Laffey shined briefly during a five-start stretch May (0.79 ERA) but inconsistency ultimately resulted in a demotion to Triple-A Buffalo. Aaron Laffey's sore elbow is back to 100 percent health, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.He has full range of motion again. If healthy, he could push for a spot in the Indians' 2009 rotation.

Manager Eric Wedge said that Aaron Laffey had a spot in the Indians' rotation waiting for him once he healthy enough to return, but today's news on Laffey's elbow injury trumps Wedge's intentions. Laffey was not part of the September callups today. The reason he wasn't on that list is elbow inflammation that sprouted up in his last two starts at Triple-A Buffalo. According to the Indians' team website Laffey will miss the rest of the season.So much for the six-man rotation that Wedge had planned.
