Manager Eric Wedge said Tuesday that he's considering going with a six-man rotation in September that would likely include Aaron Laffey. Laffey was demoted to Triple-A late last month after going 5-7 with a 4.23 ERA in 16 starts. Anthony Castrovince, of MLB.com, reports Cleveland Indians SP Aaron Laffey is expected to be recalled when rosters expand Monday, Sept. 1. He could enter the rotation, which would become a six-man rotation.

Lauded as a top-tier prospect when he was traded from the Blue Jays to the Brewers before the 2006 season, Jackson compiled a meager 1-5 record and a 7.85 ERA. "I just kind of lost sense of my strengths," Jackson said. Since arriving in Triple-A Buffalo, however, he seemed regained his confidence and looked a little bit more like the 6-foot-5 left-hander who played in the 2005 All-Star Futures Game. In eight appearances, including four starts, the 25-year-old was 3-1 with a 4.05 ERA.

Andrew Gribble, of MLB.com, reports Cleveland Indians SP Aaron Laffey will return to the team's starting rotation eventually, according to manager Eric Wedge. In his second start with Triple-A Buffalo Saturday, Aug. 9, Laffey threw eight scoreless innings and gave up just four hits while striking out nine.

The edge goes to Laffey, who owns a respectable 4.23 ERA for Cleveland this season. Jackson, meanwhile, hasn't logged one big league inning this year, although he's performed admirably for Triple-A Buffalo since coming over in the CC Sabathia trade (4.04 ERA, 16/4 K/BB ratio, 20 IP).
