It wasn't Rosales' major league debut -- he had eight pinch-hitting appearances -- but it was his starting debut. He went 0-for-2 with a walk.

Analysis: Rosales pinch-hit Wednesday against Houston's LaTroy Hawkins and struck out. As he walked away, he kept staring into the distance and said, "I was checking out the speed of the last pitch. Once you learn how to do that, you'll have your feet on the ground and be rolling." It's unlikely he'll garner much playing time, however, as Encarnacion has cemented himself as the everyday third baseman.
