After looking overmatched for most of his rookie season, Miller will likely open 2009 down on the farm.

After looking overmatched for most of his rookie season, Miller will likely open 2009 down on the farm.
News: Andrew Miller (6-10) relieved Monday and took the loss.
Analysis: Miller has been relegated to the bullpen down the stretch, but he will enter 2009 as one of the Marlins' five starters. Consider him a sleeper on Draft Day 2009 and one worth owning in any league next spring
News: Marlins activated pitcher Andrew Miller and outfielder Brett Carroll from the disabled list on Monday, making room on the 40-man roster by placing catcher Mike Rabelo on the 60-day DL. Miller was 1-0 with a 2.33 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings in six rehab games. He gave up five earned runs, allowing 14 hits and four walks. The left-hander went on the 15-day DL on July 18 with tendinitis in his right knee.
Analysis: Miller could return to the rotation at some point, but Chris Volstad has fared so well as a starter that Miller will probably have to work in middle relief right now. He has long-term potential, but don't expect him to help you much in Fantasy for the rest of this season
The Associated Press reports Florida Marlins SP Andrew Miller (knee) was activated from the 15-day disabled list.
Marlins activated LHP Andrew Miller from the disabled list. Miller went 5-9 with a 5.63 ERA in 20 starts for the Marlins and then spent six weeks on the DL with a knee injury, but now he returns as a reliever. He doesn't figure to have any real fantasy value for the remainder of this season, but will likely be an undervalued sleeper candidate heading into next year.
