Miller, who has inflammation, was removed Tuesday after covering first base and grimacing after his foot hit the bag. He had thrown just three innings, allowing six runs on nine hits. Gonzalez said the decision was based strictly on the knee. Miller said he had the same issue with the knee last season in Detroit. "It's not anything that is going to shut me down," said Miller, who describes it as a "slight discomfort."
