"I'm an everyday guy or I need to move out," Jones remarked. We're not sure if that's an ultimatum, but it's awfully arrogant of a guy who, in his last two seasons, has hit a combined .205 while striking out 214 times in 781 at-bats with Atlanta and the Dodgers.
Status: D.L.. Out for the season
Asked Thursday what role he expects to play on the Dodgers next season, Andruw Jones said: "I'm an everyday guy or I need to move out." Jones hit .158/.256/.249 while missing half the season with knee problems and has chosen not to be with the team during their playoff run. "I don't want to jinx them," Jones said. "I had a bad season and a terrible season back-to-back. I have to have a great season and show people I have baseball left in me." Jones will make $15 million in 2009, but odds are against the Dodgers committing to him as an everyday player.
