Indians acquired RHP Anthony Reyes from the Cardinals for RHP Luis Perdomo. It's nice to see Reyes finally get out of St. Louis. His conflict with pitching coach Dave Duncan over what kind of pitcher he was never figured to come to a positive resolution. Over the next year or so, we'll get a chance to find out whether Reyes was right all along in looking at himself as a power pitcher or if he should have trusted Duncan and began using a sinker as his primary pitch. The Indians may stick him in Triple-A for now, but he should get a chance to join their rotation soon. He'll be a better sleeper in AL-only leagues next year than he will be for the final two months of 2008.Related: Cardinals

Reyes was long regarded as a top prospect in the Cardinals system but was unable to establish a regular role for the St. Louis pitching staff. He was on the Cardinals¿ opening day roster and posted a mark of 2-1 w/a save and a 4.91 ERA in 10 relief outings. Perdomo, 24, is currently on the Double-A Akron roster where he has appeared in nine games in relief (2-0, 3.52 ERA. He began the year at Class A Kinston. The Indians have reportedly acquired Anthony Reyes from the Cardinals for Luis Perdomo. And the day just keeps getting better for Cleveland. Stealing Reyes away for a relief prospect is a great trade for the Indians. Perdomo is promising and has a chance of developing into a setup man, but Reyes still has what it takes to become a reliable starter and should be helped by the change of scenery.Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer Related: Indians
