News: Indians SP Anthony Reyes, traded from the Cardinals last month, made his first start with his new team Friday at Toronto. He allowed one run on seven hits and one walk in 6 1/3 innings, striking out four. He won the game, upping his record to 3-1.
Analysis: The 26-year-old Reyes went 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA in two starts at Triple-A Buffalo before being called up when right-hander Matt Ginter was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a sore forearm. He struggled in a bullpen role with the Cardinals earlier this year, going 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA and one save in 10 appearances. He always had upside, and the Indians will give him a chance to make the most of it. Take a flier on him in AL-only leagues

Quite a way to make an entrance. Reyes, who made 10 relief appearances with St. Louis this season before being dealt to Cleveland in a minor league trade, was 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA in a pair of starts for Triple-A Buffalo. That said, the third-year right-hander struggled in a starting role last season, going 2-14 with a 6.04 ERA. He'll look to maintain his momentum when he next takes the mound, Aug. 13 at home against the Orioles.

Anthony Reyes made the most of his first appearance with the Indians as he limited the Jays to a lone run over 6.1 innings in his first victory of the season.Reyes looked nothing like the pitcher we saw in St. Louis the past couple of years as he was efficient allowing one walk and needing just 88 pitches on the night. He obviously earned himself another start with this outing.

Anthony Reyes allowed just one run over six-plus innings in his debut with the Indians on Friday night. Reyes fanned four and issued only one walk. He gave up seven hits, but was really quite impressive. 62 of his 88 pitches went for strikes. The change of scenery and, more importantly, coaching staff, could do the trick in revitalizing Reyes' career. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. He was solid tonight and will face the Orioles next week.

News: The Indians recalled right-hander Anthony Reyes from Triple-A Buffalo to start against the Blue Jays, and purchased the contract of righty Brendan Donnelly from Triple-A.
Analysis: Reyes was acquired from St. Louis in a July 26 trade that sent right-hander Luis Perdomo to the Cardinals. Reyes was 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA in two starts at Triple-A before being called up. Reyes has immense potential and is a great flier to take in all deeper leagues, especially AL-only and long-term keeper formats

Indians recalled RHP Anthony Reyes from Triple-A Buffalo. The Cardinals soured on Reyes after he went 10-24 with a 5.38 ERA in 220 2/3 innings, but he remains a potential mid-rotation starter long term and the Indians picked him up at a discount a week before the trading deadline. He'll join the rotation with a start Friday against the Blue Jays and has a chance to stick as a starter down the stretch, making him a worthwhile pickup in deeper AL-only leagues.
