AL-only owners should take a long hard look at releasing or replacing Indians' utiltyman Jamey Carroll. With the team dumping salary and going nowhere this season, expect Carroll to collect splinters in favor of recently recalled Asdrubal Cabrera.Carroll's lack of power should make him an easy dump for managers looking to improve their roster and pick up at bats in the stretch run.

Asdrubal Cabrera is expected to be officially recalled from Triple-A Buffalo today, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Manager Eric Wedge commented on his return to the Indians by saying, "I just felt like it was the right time. We think he's on the right path physically and he's shown better fundamentals. He's getting back to the player he needs to be. We'll have some challenges for his playing time."Wedge is referring to him pushing Jamey Carroll at second base, and noted that Cabrera will spell Jhonny Peralta at shortstop when needed, and added that he is expected to play quite a bit. He is worth a look in AL-only leagues, assuming he can bounce back and raise his .184 batting average.
