Indians.MLB.com's Andrew Gribble reports Cleveland Indians 2B Asdrubal Cabrera has shown consistency at the plate, in his fitness and in his defense after spending nearly two months at Triple-A Buffalo. Since he returned to the Indians' everyday lineup July 18, Cabrera is batting just under .300.

That's three straight multi-hit efforts for Cabrera, who's blasted two doubles and a homer with three RBIs and three runs scored in his last two contests. After a very rough start to the season, it seems that the young infielder has finally found his rhythm, as he's batting .324 with five extra-base hits through his first 34 at-bats this month. Owners would be wise to scoop him up now while the going's good.

Incredibly, Cabrera was injured running back on to the field to take his position for the bottom of the sixth. It was really bad timing for the Indians after Andy Marte took over at DH for Ryan Garko earlier in the game. Not wanting to lose the DH, they chose to move Jamey Carroll from third to second, Andy Gonzalez from first to third and Sal Fasano from catcher to first. Kelly Shoppach took over behind the plate.

Cabrera has turned things on as of late, hitting .381 (8-for-21) with two doubles, a homer and a pair of RBIs in that span. Though he's hitting just .204 on the year, Cabrera hit .283 over 45 games last season and is more than capable of providing numbers worthy of mixed-league consideration.

What a frustrating season for the second baseman, whose batting average has been hovering around the Mendoza Line since the beginning of June. This is his second multi-hit game in four outings, so perhaps Cabrera is getting ready to start a hit streak which would make him fantasy relevant for perhaps the first time this season.
