Not the prettiest of outings for Sheets, who surrendered more than three earned runs for just the second time in his last 12 start. Despite the shaky performance, the righty fireballer seemed to struggle finishes June with a relatively respectable 4.34 ERA to go along with a 28/9 K/BB ratio over 29 innings of work. He'll look to rebound in his next start, Aug. 3 on the road against the Braves.

Sheets had allowed just one run on four hits through the first five frames, but he completely fell apart in the sixth, when the Cubs started the inning with seven straight hits and scored five times. Sheets entered the game with a 2.87 ERA but saw it shoot up to 3.14 after the thrashing. It's the first time his ERA has been over 3 since mid-May.
Milwaukee hurler Ben Sheets was hit hard as the Brewers lost for the second day in a row to the Cubs by a score of 7-1. Sheets went just 5.1 innings, giving up six earned runs on 11 hits.Sheets' ERA went over 3.00 for the first time since May 15, when he also allowed six earned runs in a start against the Dodgers.
