Ken Gurnick, of MLB.com, reports Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Blake DeWitt will work on his infield skills during the offseason.

The Associated Press reports Los Angeles Dodgers IF Blake DeWitt hit a bases-loaded triple during Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Sunday, Oct. 12, propelling the Dodgers to a 7-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

News: Dodgers manager Joe Torre started rookie Blake DeWitt at second base all three games of the NLDS against the Cubs instead of veteran Jeff Kent. Kent, the 17-year veteran who had 43 games of postseason experience entering this series, spent 2 1/2 weeks on the disabled list after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee but was able to start several games in the final week of the regular schedule.
Analysis: DeWitt has pop in his bat, but he is a streaky young infielder who will have to earn regular at-bats heading into spring 2009. If Kent retires, DeWitt is the likely starting second baseman for the Dodgers, and from the looks of his playing time this postseason, he might be the favorite anyway. Consider him a nice sleeper going into next season

News: Dodgers 3B Blake DeWitt played a nice little Saturday game against the Giants. DeWitt homered for the ninth time and went 3-for-4 with two RBI, the Dodgers only two RBI of the game.
Analysis: DeWitt has proven to have pop in his bat, but he is a streaky young infielder who will have to earn regular at-bats heading into spring 2009 at this point. If Jeff Kent retires, DeWitt is the likely starting second baseman for the Dodgers and that would give him decent value in deeper leagues
