News: Athletics SS Bobby Crosby wasn't in the starting lineup for the second time in four September games Thursday in the second game of a doubleheader at Kansas City. He did start in the first game, however, going 1-for-5.

Analysis: Crosby has a low batting average and hasn't showed nearly as much power as you'd like for a power prospect. He looks like a low-end Fantasy option these days, but continue to think of him as the regular shortstop in Oakland

News: The Sports Xchange notes that Bobby Crosby recorded his 500th career hit Thursday with a two-out single in the third. Crosby went 2-for-4 on the night.

Analysis: Crosby is batting .249 and has 10 hits in his past 51 at-bats. He is a .167 career hitter against the Twins. He has been on the decline since his Rookie of the Year campaign in 2004 and is nothing more than a low-end Fantasy SS. His value is highest in AL-only play

Crosby's laced four two-baggers in his last six games, plating four runs in the process. While his .249 average leaves plenty to be desired, the 28-year-old shortstop remains a viable option in leagues that value doubles, as he's cracked a career-high 35 in just 122 contests this season.

News: Bobby Crosby had three hits for the second straight game Saturday and drove in two runs for Oakland. He hit a pair of RBI singles and a double.

Analysis: Crosby is a solid option in deeper leagues at this point, especially since he looks like he can sustain a mini tear for Fantasy Week 22 (Aug. 25-31)

Crosby recorded back-to-back three-hit games for the first time this season. The 28-year-old shortstop is batting .252 with seven homers, 52 runs scored, 53 RBIs and six steals in 457 at-bats this season. Crosby is on pace to top 500 at-bats for just the second time in his five full seasons in the Majors.
