News: Mr. Perfect got the biggest save of his career. Just like he did all season, Phillies closer Brad Lidge nailed down Philadelphia's 4-3 victory over the Rays in Wednesday night's completion of a suspended Game 5, securing the Phillies' second World Series championship in the franchise's 126-year history. Lidge, 41-for-41 in save chances during the regular season, earned his seventh save in as many tries in the postseason by pitching out of trouble in the ninth. He allowed one hit and recorded one strikeout.

Analysis: Lidge has re-emerged as a top 10 Fantasy closer, especially since he pitches for a contender. His struggles from his days in Houston are clearly behind him, so draft him with confidence next season

Pedro Feliz singled in pinch-runner Eric Bruntlett to give Philadelphia a lead in the bottom of the seventh and Brad Lidge closed the door in the ninth as the Phillies downed the Rays 4-3 on Wednesday to finish off the World Series. After play resumed at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth, pinch-hitter Geoff Jenkins doubled and was singled in by Jayson Werth. The Rays evened it back up in the top of the seventh on a Rocco Baldelli homer. However, the Phillies went right back ahead after Pat Burrell doubled to lead off the bottom of the seventh. Bruntlett replaced him and took third on Shane Victorino's grounder. Feliz then singled him in. J.C. Romero worked a scoreless eighth for the Phillies, and Lidge finished it in the ninth. The Phillies won their first World Series in 28 years. It was the first Philadelphia championship in a major sport since the 76ers won in 1983.
