Chone Figgins hit his first home run in over 400 at bats this season on Saturday. He also doubled and scored twice for the Angels.Figgins had been in a slight slump and it appears he has found his slump-buster. The Angels would like for him to heat up as the playoffs approach.
He's not much of a home run hitter anyway, as last year's three jacks in 442 at-bats attest. Focus on other areas with Figgins, such as the five steals he's picked up in his last eight games.
Chone Figgins collected his first homer and his 14th double Saturday against the White Sox. Finally a hint of power. Figgins, who peaked at nine homers two years ago, entered tonight with just 14 extra-base hits in 400 at-bats. As a result, he had a .318 slugging to go along with his .280 average.
News: Angels INF Chone Figgins went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, two walks and three stolen bases in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.
Analysis: Figgins has had a down season -- one plagued by injuries -- but he remains a solid source of stolen bases, especially since he now qualifies at second base in some leagues
The Associated Press reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B Chone Figgins stole three bases Tuesday night, Sept. 2. He now has 30 steals on the year and has stolen at least 30 bases for five straight seasons.
