Angels place Bootcheck on 15-day DL
Angels RP Chris Bootcheck was sidelined for the last few days because of the flu, and after Monday's performance against the A's, he probably still wishes he was. Bootcheck relieved Jon Garland in the seventh inning with no outs and a runner on second. Bootcheck lasted just 2/3 of an inning while yielding six hits, seven runs and three walks. He was greeted by a two-run homer from Emil Brown and struck out one before handing it over to Darren O'Day.
The L.A. Times reports that the virus that sidelined RP Chris Bootcheck for a couple days now appears to have hit catcher Jeff Mathis, who had similar symptoms Sunday. The Angels' other catcher, Mike Napoli, said he might be catching something too. He said he was feeling a little weak.
