News: Tampa Bay OF Cliff Floyd went 2-for-3 in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday night. Floyd doubled and drove in a run.

Analysis: Floyd is pretty hot at the plate right now as he's amassed hits in six of his last seven contests with a home run and nine RBI during that span. Still, you can't count on Floyd to do much more than pop a few homers, and he doesn't even play against left-handed pitchers. Treat him as just a low-end AL-only option

Cliff Floyd went 3-for-4 with a homer, five RBI and a walk in the Rays' 14-3 rout of the Orioles on Friday. Floyd entered with just 27 RBI this season, but he had been playing better lately. He has four homers in 41 at-bats this month. Overall, he has 11 homers, nine of which have come at Tropicana Field.

Floyd has back-to-back multi-RBI games and he has three overall since taking over the cleanup spot in Tampa's batting order on Aug. 13. Floyd hit .328 with eight RBIs and 13 walks in 19 games at the cleanup spot last season, so he looks to have some comfort in the four-hole.
