Haren's first National League season was all Arizona could ask for, as the grizzly right-hander had little trouble switching leagues and matching the level of dominance he showed in Oakland. The 206 strikeouts and 16 wins represents a career high, numbers he's completely capable of repeating in his fifth full season.

Analysis: Haren had his usual second-half regression, posting a 4.18 ERA after the All-Star break. Still, he has the potential to contend for the Cy Young award any given season and will enter 2009 as a top-10 Fantasy option
Haren pitched much better than his line would indicate in this one, as he got touched for three runs in the first inning before settling down to dominate the Rockies. Cumulatively his season has been what owners were expecting -- 16 wins, 3.33 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 206 strikeouts. His last 10 starts, however, have not been so hot, as he's allowed at least five earned runs in four of them.
Dan Haren was tagged for four runs in seven innings, but escaped with a no-decision as the Diamondbacks rallied late for a 6-4 victory over the Rockies. The Rockies got to Haren early, with three runs in the first, but he wound up striking out nine while walking only one batter. He will finish the 2008 season with a 16-8 record and a 3.33 ERA.
