Milwaukee reliever Eric Gagne faced one hitter and wound up getting ejected after throwing behind Cubs outfielder Jim Edmonds, who had hit two home runs on the day.The first three pitches of the at-bat were inside, and the fourth was a foot behind Edmonds. Brewers manager Ned Yost made a lame attempt to defend his hurler, but the intent was obvious.

Eric Gagne was ejected from Thursday's game in the ninth inning for throwing behind Jim Edmonds. It was a 3-0 pitch. Edmonds had homered twice in the game. Gagne is probably due for a three- or four-game suspension.

Eric Gagne made his third appearance on Tuesday since coming off the DL with shoulder tendinitis. He allowed just one hit in his only inning of work.Gagne is 3-for-3 in successful bullpen appearances since his return.

Eric Gagne was the beneficiary of offense on Saturday as he worked a scoreless ninth inning and then watched his teammates score the winning run off the Pirates to give him his second victory of the season.Gagne has now appeared twice without allowing a run since returning from injury, and with the Brewers struggles in the pen there could be some consideration of moving Gagne back into the closers role soon.
