Larry LaRue, of The Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Mariners SP Erik Bedard (shoulder) will begin his rehab from shoulder surgery Tuesday, Oct. 7. He expects to be fully healthy in time for Spring Training next year.
Erik Bedard is slated to start his rehab from his shoulder surgery Tuesday, according to The News Tribune. He said, "They cleaned up the fraying on my labrum and took out the cyst. I start rehab tomorrow."Tuesday is only 12 days after he underwent surgery. What happens next depends on how Bedards rehab progresses, and hell return to Seattle this winter before picking up a baseball again. But by spring training, hes been told he should be close to 100 percent.
Erik Bedard will start rehab on his surgically repaired shoulder on Tuesday and hopes to be ready for spring training. Bedard had a frayed labrum repaired and a cyst removed during surgery. "The worst-case scenario was I’d miss all next year," Bedard said. "This was definitely the best possibility. I’ve been in a sling the last 11 days and tomorrow I start working on range of motion."Source: Tacoma News Tribune
Erik Bedard could be ready by spring training after undergoing successful surgery to remove a cyst from his labrum according to ESPN.com.Original recovery time was six months, but the latest reports indicate that with a successful rehab, he could be ready to go by spring. This is certainly positive news, as the once dominant Bedard, along with Felix Hernandez, was expected to anchor a Seattle staff that was in shambles most of the year. Bedard started just 15 games in his first season with Seattle.
