Analysis: This is the second time Thomas has been on the DL this season. He missed 55 games with tendinitis in his right quad from May 28-July 30. Thomas had complained about soreness in his leg in recent days and acknowledged he had trouble pushing off with his right foot. He was mired in a career-long 0-for-23 slump before going 8-for-21 (.381) over his last six games. He still has notable power potential, but at his age, you can't expect to get much, if anything, from him before the end of the season. Cut him in all but deeper AL-only leagues

Thomas never looked right since returning to the A's on Aug. 1 after sitting out two and a half months with the same injury. He hit just .211 with a .575 OPS, so obviously something wasn't right physically with Thomas.
