Chris Ruddick, of The Sports Network, reports Los Angeles Dodgers SP Hiroki Kuroda is slated to start Game 3 of the NLCS.
News: Dodgers SP Hiroki Kuroda won the decisive Game 3 of the NLDS against the Cubs on Saturday, sending his team to the NLCS. He pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings, allowing six hits and two walks. He also recorded four strikeouts.
Analysis: Kuroda doesn't have knockout stuff, which leaves him vulnerable to the occasional blowout, but he more often pitches like he did Saturday. Consider him a nice late-round option to fill out any Fantasy staff next season
Los Angeles Dodgers SP Hiroki Kuroda hurled 6 1/3 shutout innings Saturday, Oct. 4, in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Chicago Cubs, according to The Associated Press. He allowed six hits, walked two and struck out four, improving to 1-0 in the postseason.
Hiroki Kuroda blanked the Cubs for 6 1/3 innings Saturday as the Dodgers completed a three-game sweep to advances to the NLCS. The NL's best regular-season club is the first to be eliminated after losing 3-1 tonight. The Cubs have now lost nine straight postseason games. The Dodgers won their first postseason series since their World Series victory in 1988. Dodger starters allowed three runs in 19 innings in the series. Kuroda put two men on in the first and third and allowed a leadoff double in the fourth, but he kept pitching out of trouble, and Cory Wade bailed him out of a jam after he left with two on in the seventh. Jonathan Broxton took over in the eighth and earned the save. The offensive stars of the night were Russell Martin (two doubles, one RBI) and James Loney (two-run double). The Dodgers will now be off until Thursday.
