Braves SP Jair Jurrjens came within an out of picking up his sixth win Monday against the Diamondbacks. He gave up three runs and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings, walking two and striking out four. Braves manager Bobby Cox said Jurrjens, like Jorge Campillo earlier in the week, had problems with his pitching hand. "I thought he pitched really good for having two blisters," Cox said. "He's a young kid and we've got to take care of him a little bit. He's already accumulated a lot of innings."

Jair Jurrjens leads all rookie pitchers in wins (five) and ERA (2.64), but he also ranks fifth among all NL starting pitchers with that ERA. He has a better ERA than Brandon Webb (2.69) and his 1.48 ERA is third-best in the NL behind Edinson Volquez (1.44) and Jake Peavy (1.46).
