News: Braves right-hander Jair Jurrjens departed Sunday's start against the Nationals with a 4-3 lead after six innings. He allowed three runs and five hits, but failed to earn the W as Washington scored five times in the eighth to win. Jurrjens struck out seven and walked three.
Analysis: Jurrjens is winless in his last four starts and has taken two straight no decisions. Jurrjens has hit a rookie wall as of late after being so great for most of the season. It's not surprising since Atlanta has thrown up the white flag. Jurrjens remains more of a low-end Fantasy SP at this time. His next scheduled start is for Friday against the Nationals
A nice bounce back performance from Jurrjens, who entered the contest having yielded 12 earned runs over his previous eight innings of work. The impressive sophomore hurler will look to build off this performance when he takes his 3.59 ERA to Turner Field for a rematch with the Nats next.
Jair Jurrjens threw an average game for the Braves, allowing three runs in six innings to Washington, though he did strike out seven in the Braves 8-4 loss.Jurrjens has had a good season for Atlanta, but has struggled mightily in August. However, it is possible that this performance will be a steppingstone to success the rest of the way. Or at least that's what fantasy owners hope.
