Analysis: Hoffman is now the brunt of many Peavy owners hatred as he was all but assured this win before the all-time saves leader blew it. And to make matters worse, this was far and away his best outing in some time. Consider him a must-start in deeper leagues, but he could be a candidate to sit if you have a solid two-start pitcher to use over him. He'll have a tough road ahead of him as he faces C.C. Sabathia in Milwaukee on Friday

He is on track to be a two-start pitcher Fantasy Week 22 (Aug. 25-31) with his second start coming against the Rockies

Jake Peavy saw his record drop to 9-9 as he threw a poor game, pitching five innings, allowing six runs on five hits and walking four in the Padres loss to Arizona.Peavy has been tremendous this month, so chalk this one up to a bad night. His record is not a good indicator of how well he has pitched this season, as the Padres simply do not score enough runs for him.

A highly unusual evening for the righty, who gave up a season-high earned runs. His control has been erratic lately, as evidenced by his 13/12 K/BB ratio in 18 innings over his last three starts. Still, Peavy is a superstar, so you should start him on Aug. 25 at home against the D-backs.

Peavy's record sits at a mediocre 9-8, but it's tough to find fault with his performance this year. After all, when a guy owns a 2.61 ERA and a 133/41 K/BB ratio in 134 2/3 innings, you'd think he'd be knocking on the door of 20 wins. Look for him to deliver a typical strong effort and hope that he receives enough run support when he next faces the D-backs on the road on Aug. 19 or 20.

He is due to make his next start on August 8 at Coors Field against the Rockies, but it would be wise to sit him considering he has a 4.60 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP in 45 career innings at Colorado.
