The Red Sox will reportedly take a shot at acquiring Jake Peavy, according to the Boston Herald.Peavy prefers to remain in the NL, but would consider playing for a top AL organization like Boston, who are currently chasing their third trip to the World Series over a five-year span. The Brewers are reportedly going to push hard to land Padres' ace hurler Jake Peavy, according to the Boston Globe.Milwaukee will likely lose CC Sabathia, and possibly the oft-injured Ben Sheets. Milwaukee makes sense, considering the Padres covet a shortstop and the Brewers would move J.J. Hardy in the right situation. Peavy has noted that he would prefer to pitch in the National League and can control things with his no-trade clause.
