James Loney went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Cubs in Game 3 of the NLDS at Dodger Stadium.The Dodgers swept the Cubs 3-0 and will await the winner of the other series between Philadelphia and Milwaukee. Loney only hit .214, but collected six RBI over the three wins.

Cubs SP Ryan Dempster walked the bases loaded in the fifth, and Loney delivered for the Dodgers. After swinging and missing the first two pitches, he sent a 1-2 pitch over the wall in center for the grand slam that gave the Dodgers a 4-2 lead and silenced a Wrigley Field crowd that was cheering loudly for Dempster to get out of the jam he created. Loney finished 1-for-5.
Analysis: Loney has taken a step back power-wise in his sophomore season, but he has plenty of upside and should continue to grow, possibly becoming a perennial .300, 30-homer type. Consider him a nice sleeper in all leagues in 2009, but you might have to draft him in the middle rounds

Ryan Dempster had one of his worst games of 2008 in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Dodgers on Wednesday. He lasted just 4.2 innings, walked seven, allowed four hits and four earned runs. All the runs came on a James Loney grand slam after Dempster had walked the bases loaded.It came down to control for Dempster on Wednesday, and he just did not have much. He will be fresh and poised to rebound should he be called upon to pitch again in this series.
