James Parr yielded five runs -- four earned -- in 4 1/3 innings Saturday against the Astros. The Braves scored three runs in the first and six in the second, but Parr still wasn't able to stay in long enough to get a win. [...]
Confirming previous reports, Atlanta Braves SP James Parr (1-0, 4.00 ERA) will start Saturday, Sept. 27, against the Houston Astros, according to The Associated Press.
Mark Bowman, of MLB.com, reports Atlanta Braves SP James Parr is tentatively scheduled to start Saturday, Sept. 27.
James Parr lasted just five outs on Sunday as he allowed the Mets to score four runs on four hits and four walks. He escaped with a no-decision when the Mets bullpen blew a late lead.Parr's ERA almost doubled from 2.20 to 4.00 on the afternoon, and after throwing 12 shutout innings in his first two starts he has pulled a reversal act over his last two starts with a 12.00 ERA lasting just six innings.
Certainly not the same stuff Parr has displayed since being recalled on Sept. 4, as he entered the contest having begun his big league career with back-to-back six-inning shutouts. The rookie right-hander will look to bounce back when he next gets the ball, Sept. 21 at home against the Mets.
