News: The Sports Xchange reports that Jarrod Saltalamacchia acknowledged he has been playing with a broken bone on the bottom of his foot for a week. He fouled a ball of his foot last week against New York, cracking a small fragment off a bone.
Analysis: Gerald Laird has been unable to play the last two days because his back has locked up so the team will need Salty to keep playing through this at least through the weekend. He's been a disappointment in Fantasy this year with no pop and a low average, though, so his extra at-bats while playing on a bum foot won't help Fantasy owners much

News: Rangers C Jarrod Saltalamacchia started for the second straight game Thursday at Boston. He went 1-for-2 with one walk and one strikeout.
Analysis: Saltalamacchia has a .235 batting average and has exhibited virtually no power all season. Unless you play in an AL-only or long-term keeper league, you have no reason to keep him on your roster
