Consistent mediocrity may mean something to Seattle's rotation, but Washburn is a dime-a-dozen arm in most fantasy leagues.

Washburn threw 18 pitches against the Royals, but was still bothered by the injury. "I felt it warming up and on every pitch I threw, but I put up a zero and argued to stay in," Washburn said Wednesday. "(Trainer) Rick Griffin noticed I was changing my arm angle a little and that's not something you want to see. You don't want to mess with anything like that. You do that you're risking further injury. "They're smarter than I am. They said 'no more.' I guess I'm done for the year," he said.
