News: Cardinals catcher Jason LaRue hit his fourth homer on Wednesday against the Pirates. LaRue went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. He added a double.
Analysis: LaRue remains nothing more than a reserve catcher for the Cardinals and the deepest of NL-only leagues at this point in his career
Jason LaRue went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer as the Cardinals topped the Pirates on Wednesday night. LaRue also doubled and hit a sacrifice fly, giving him three ribbies on the night. He's now hitting .231 with four homers and 18 RBI while backing up Yadier Molina.
R.B. Fallstrom, of The Associated Press, reports St. Louis Cardinals C Jason LaRue went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a home run Wednesday, Aug. 20.
News: The Sports Xchange notes, Cardinals backup C Jason LaRue caught RHP Brad Thompson Friday, in part because he had handled Thompson's first three starts this season.
Analysis: Thompson performed well for the Cardinals and could remain in the rotation. If LaRue continues to be Thompson's designated catcher, that could mean some more PT for the backstop. Even if Thompson pitched every third day, however, LaRue would be sitting the rest of the time and remains nothing more than a reserve catcher for the Cardinals and the deepest of NL-only leagues at this point in his career
