This marks five straight seasons of double-digit wins for Marquis. Of course, consistent mediocrity is nothing to write home about, nor is it worth drafting, either.

Russell Martin's only hit of the night was a ninth inning solo home run off of Cubs pitcher Jason Marquis on Wednesday night as the Dodgers took Game 1 of the NLDS in Wrigley 7-1.On a night the wind was supposed to keep the ball in the park, Los Angeles hit three home runs. Martin had a mere .396 slugging percentage this season but 10 of his 13 home runs came after the All-Star break.
During the regular-season Jason Marquis won 11 games as a starter but in the post-season he will be coming out of the bullpen, according toThe Cubs will go with a rotation of Ryan Dempster, Carlos Zambrano, Rich Harden and Tedd Lilly in the playoffs. Dempster will get the ball in Game 1 for the Cubs, who are looking to win the World Series for the first time in 100 years.
The Associated Press reports Chicago Cubs SP Jason Marquis will pitch out of the bullpen in the playoffs.
News: Cubs SP Jason Marquis, coming off a loss in his last start, allowed four runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings to win Monday at the Mets. He issued four walks and recorded four strikeouts. He also hit a grand slam, driving in five runs total.
Analysis: Marquis has had his usual mediocre season, posting a 4.43 ERA, but he does have a winning record. As long as he has a spot in the Cubs rotation, he has some Fantasy value, but he might have to fight for that spot next season if he even returns to the team. His next start is scheduled for Sunday at Milwaukee
