News: Angels SP Jered Weaver pitched the final two innings of a 12-inning Game 3 of the ALDS at Boston on Sunday. He allowed one hit and one walk, recording three strikeouts to pick up the victory.

Analysis: Weaver disappointed a bit in his third MLB season -- a typical breakout year for starting pitchers. He has the upside to become an ace, but draft him as a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy SP next season

Jered Weaver worked the final two innings in relief on Sunday night to lead the Angels to a 5-4, 12 inning victory over the Red Sox to force a Game 4.Weaver looked strong in the unfamiliar role of working out of the pen, and after a 5:19 minute game, the longest in ALDS history, the two teams will do it all over against less than 20 hours from this posting.

News: Angels right-handers Jered Weaver and Jon Garland, members of the starting rotation this season, will be working out of the bullpen against the Red Sox. It's an unaccustomed role for both, and manager Mike Scioscia said they'll probably get extra warmup time before being used. "I think our template is to use them if we would get into a situation of extra innings or possibly late in the game on the road where they could take a fresh inning and go as long as they could," Scioscia said. "I think it gives us a nice option with those two guys with so much length to really get matchups early on and not have to save anybody for extra innings." Ervin Santana is scheduled to pitch Game 2 and Joe Saunders Game 3 for the Angels. The schedule makes Game 1 starter John Lackey available for Game 4 without having to pitch on short rest.

Analysis: Weaver and Garland remain Fantasy standouts, despite being minimalized by the deep Angels. All of the Angels starters should be highly sought after on Draft Day 2009, with Weaver the most likely to outperform his draft position
