Tigers SP Jeremy Bonderman, off to a terrible start this season after battling pinched cartilage in his pitching elbow last season, turned in his best performance yet Tuesday against the Angels. He struck out seven in 7 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and one walk. Manager Jim Leyland yanked him after only 83 pitches, though, and he didn't factor in the decision.

Jeremy Bonderman (3-4) won for the first time in four May starts on Thursday, allowing two runs and eight hits with two walks in six innings. He struck out two batters and has pitched at least six innings in four of his last five starts.
