News: Indians SS Jhonny Peralta went 5-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored Wednesday afternoon at Tampa Bay. He extended his hitting streak to 10 games with the performance.
Analysis: The hitting streak hadn't been impressive, though, coming into play Wednesday. All but two of the games had been what we like to call one-hit wonders. He'd picked up just one hit in seven of the nine games coming in, but this is more along the lines of what he's been doing in his breakout season. Consider him a solid start in all leagues right now

Peralta has quickly emerged as a top-flight shortstop since the All-Star break, batting .368 with three homers and 16 RBIs. That leaves him with a season total of 19 long balls and 64 ribbies, tops among American League shortstops. Furthermore, Wednesday extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Clearly, there's no excuse for benching Peralta in any style of play while he's tearing the cover off the ball.

He raised his average a few points higher to .281, and should remain in fantasy lineups while he is hot.

Analysis: The hitting streak hasn't been impressive, though, as all but two of the games have been what we like to call one-hit wonders. He's picked up just one hit in seven of the nine games, but still has been having a career year at age 26. Consider him a solid start in all leagues right now
