News: White Sox SP John Danks kept his team's season alive Sunday in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Rays just like he did in the tiebreaker game against the Twins on Tuesday. He allowed three runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings, walking three and striking out seven.

Analysis: Danks had an excellent sophomore season for Chicago. If next year, he makes as much progress as he did after posting a 5.50 ERA in 2007, he'll become a pretty reliable Fantasy commodity. Draft him as a No. 5 guy and watch him emerge as a No. 3

John Danks allowed three runs over 6.2 innings against the Rays to lead the Sox to a 5-3 victory in Game 3. Danks gave up seven hits and three walks in the outing, though he also struck out seven batters.Over his last two must win appearances the young lefty is 2-0 with a 1.84 ERA. Danks may or may not pitch again this post-season, but he has clearly shown that he has the heart of a winner which is something to keep in mind for next season.

The Associated Press’ Rick Gano reports Chicago White Sox SP John Danks earned the win in a 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday, Oct. 5, in Game 3 of the ALDS. He allowed three earned runs on seven hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings while fanning seven.

John Danks pitched the White Sox past the Rays by allowing three runs in 6 2/3 innings Sunday in Game 3 of the ALDS. So at least one series will extend beyond the weekend. The White Sox, who down 2-1 in the ALDS, came up with five runs against Matt Garza. Dewayne Wise delivered the biggest blow, connecting on a two-run double in the fourth. Danks was exceptional until giving up B.J. Upton's two-run homer in the seventh, but he had the margin for error. After he came out, Octavio Dotel, Matt Thornton and Bobby Jenks shut down the Rays for 2 1/3 innings. Andy Sonnanstine and Gavin Floyd will be the Game 4 starters on Monday.
