Johnny Cueto (elbow) played long toss before Saturday's game. Cueto will throw a couple of bullpen sessions next week and wants to return before the end of the season. "He’s chomping at the bit," said manager Dusty Baker. "If he wants to pitch and he is OK to pitch after the two bullpen sessions, why not let him pitch?" For the record, the Reds are 26 games out of first place and Cueto is just 22 years old. But, that's Dusty being Dusty.Source: Dayton Daily News

Johnny Cueto threw 20 pitches on flat ground Friday. Cueto will play long toss on Saturday and might pitch a bullpen session Tuesday. "I'm OK," he said. "I feel good. Nothing. No pain." If he's not telling the truth, and anything goes wrong, the Reds will likely shut him down for the rest of the season.Source: Cincinnati Enquirer
