Injured Twins SP Kevin Slowey (biceps) made his first of three rehab starts for Class A Fort Myers Monday against the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Slowey allowed just a solo home run to Jeramy Laster in three innings while walking one and striking out five. "The line itself wasn’t as important as just getting out there and feeling good again," Slowey told the News-Press. Radar guns had Slowey’s fastball ranging between 87 and 90 miles per hour. He three 49 pitches, 34 for strikes.

Slowey to begin rehab assignment

Twins SP Kevin Slowey's injured biceps felt fine after a bullpen session Friday. The right-hander will throw about 50 pitches for Class A Fort Myers on Monday, the first of three planned rehab starts before being re-evaluated.

The Sports Xchange reports that SP Kevin Slowey (strained right biceps) threw for 20 minutes Wednesday and, if he feels good, he will throw in the bullpen Friday. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Slowey, who has pitched just six innings since March 25, will need an extended rehab stint in order for the starter to get stretched out.

Kevin Slowey has officially been placed on the 15-day DL, according to the AP. He is suffering from arm tightness and Manager Gardenhire stated, "He's better, but he's not ready to pitch yet. We want to give him all the time he needs."Francisco Liriano will take his place in the Twins' rotation on Sunday.

Kevin Slowey will be placed on the DL due to a strained right biceps, this according to the AP. The Twins have recalled Francisco Liriano to take Slowey's turn in the rotation on Sunday.The DL move is retroactive to April 4th, Slowey's lone appearance of the year, so he could be back with the Twins within a little over a week if he continues to progress without incident.

Kevin Slowey is still working his way back from an injured biceps muscle as he hasn't picked up a ball since last Thursday, this according to MLB.com. "It feels better now than it did when I hurt it," Slowey said. "I at least know that I'm progressing. Whether I'm 100 percent right now or I'll be 100 percent in a day or two, we'll see."Slowey will throw on Monday and Tuesday to see if he will be available to make a start this Sunday in Kansas City.

Kevin Slowey will likely miss at least one start due to a right biceps strain. He will be re-evaluated after that. "It's nothing serious but certainly nothing that we want to mess around with," Slowey tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I'll keep it in ice and follow the trainers the next couple days and see how it goes."We're not sure who will start in Slowey's place.
