News: The Nationals sent OF Ryan Langerhans and right-hander Levale Speigner outright to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday after they cleared waivers.
Analysis: Speigner worked out of the bullpen this season and didn't fare particularly well. He's not worth drafting in any Fantasy leagues
Ryan Langerhans was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday after passing through waivers unclaimed, according to the Associated Press. Levale Speigner also received the same treatment.Langerhans hit just .234/380/.396 in 111 AB in 2008 and clearly had no future with the Nationals, and considering he owns a .233 average and .713 OPS in 978 career AB he also has zero fantasy value.
Bill Ladson, of MLB.com, reports the Washington Nationals outrighted P Levale Speigner to Triple-A Syracuse Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Washington Nationals P Levale Speigner allowed five runs on four hits over two innings Friday, Sept. 19, against the San Diego Padres, according to The Associated Press. He walked two and struck out one, falling to 0-1 on the season.
Nationals purchased the contract of RHP Levale Speigner from Triple-A Columbus. Speigner spent much of last season with the Nationals as a Rule 5 pick and was a mess, posting an 8.78 ERA in 40 innings, but bounced back to go 4-0 with a 1.82 ERA and 40/13 K/BB ratio in 59 1/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this year. All but one of his 35 appearances came out of the bullpen at Triple-A and he'll work middle relief for the Nats.
