Jenifer Langosch, of MLB.com, reports the Milwaukee Brewers are not expecting SP Yovani Gallardo to throw more than 70 pitches in his start Thursday, Sept. 25. SP Manny Parra and SP Seth McClung will be ready to relieve Gallardo out of the bullpen.
News: Brewers rookie P Manny Parra, demoted to the bullpen after allowing five runs in 1 1/3 innings in his last start, gave up five runs on seven hits in four innings of relief Friday at Cincinnati. He struck out two and gave up four home runs.
Analysis: So much for Parra settling down in relief. He clearly has upside and might become a viable Fantasy SP as soon as next season, but you obviously can't use him right now
Joe Kay, of The Associated Press, reports Milwaukee Brewers SP Manny Parra gave up four home runs Friday, Sept. 19.
News: Milwaukee also announced that left-hander Manny Parra was being dropped from the starting rotation in favor of righty Seth McClung. Right-hander Dave Bush is being moved up a day and will start Thursday's series-finale against the Cubs on three days rest. McClung will start on Friday.
Analysis: Parra is now just a middle-relief option. That makes him only a Fantasy viable pitcher in leagues that use middle-relief pitchers
Manny Parra hsa been removed from Milwaukee's rotation after lasting just 1 1/3 innings against the Phillies on Saturday. Parra has had three rough starts in a row, but he's still 10-8 with a 4.28 ERA this season. Replacing with Seth McClung may be a little too much of a desperate act.
