Indians recalled first baseman Michael Aubrey from Triple-A Buffalo. Aubrey, who made his major league debut in May, hit .281/.329/.428 in 388 at-bats between Double- and Triple-A. The lack of power figures to prevent him from having a significant career in the majors, but he makes enough contact to serve as a nice September pinch-hitter.
News: Cleveland activated second baseman Josh Barfield, who was on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Buffalo. Also, they recalled first baseman Michael Aubrey and right-handers Tom Mastny, John Meloan and Brian Slocum. Left-hander Rich Rundles' contract was purchased from the Bisons.
Analysis: Aubrey has pop in his bat and could get at-bats at first base or DH down the stretch. Long term, there is potential, but he is nothing more than a reserve for the deepest of AL-only leagues at this point
