The Associated Press reports Boston Red Sox RP Mike Timlin made his 1,050th appearance of his career Saturday, Aug. 23, tying him for seventh place on the career list.

David Ginsburg, of The Associated Press, reports Boston Red Sox RP Mike Timlin made his 1,049th career appearance Wednesday, Aug. 20. He is now one outing short of tying the major league record for most appearances by a right-handed relief pitcher.

Mike Timlin is due to come back off of the DL prior to Thursday's game, according to the Boston Herald. Chris Smith was optioned to the minors to create room on the roster.Timlin does not figure to offer much fantasy value at this point.
