Tom Haudricourt, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Milwaukee Brewers RP Mitch Stetter has been added to the team's playoff roster for the NLDS.
The Associated Press reports Milwaukee Brewers RP Mitch Stetter earned his third victory of the season Thursday, Sept. 25, by pitching the top half of the 10th inning and holding off the Pittsburgh Pirates in a 5-1 win.
News: The Brewers purchased the contract of 3B Mat Gamel from Triple-A Nashville, recalled RHP Mark DiFelice, RHP Tim Dillard, 3B Joe Dillon, OF Tony R. Gwynn, 1B Brad Nelson, C Vinny Rottino and LHP Mitch Stetter from Triple-A Nashville on Monday. Also, they purchased the contract of C Angel Salome from Double-A Huntsville and recalled SS Alcides Escobar from Huntsville. To make room on the roster, they transferred LHP Chris Capuano from the 15-day to the 60-day DL and designated RHP Richie Gardner for assignment.
Analysis: Stetter is nothing more than a low-end middle reliever for the deepest of NL-only leagues that use true middle men down the stretch
Brewers recalled LHP Mitch Stetter from Triple-A Nashville. Stetter has a 2.78 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 22 2/3 innings for the Brewers this season. If he does a better job of throwing strikes, he should have a chance of claiming a spot on the postseason roster as the second lefty in Milwaukee's pen.
Mitch Stetter has been sent back to Triple-A Nashville after just two days.Stetter could be recalled soon as he is one of the more reliable pitchers in the Brewers' bullpen. In 22.2 innings with 29 strikeouts with a 2.78 ERA.
