The Associated Press reports Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen could move OF Nick Swisher from center field to first base, but he didn't sound confident in anyone being able to replace Swisher in center field if 1B Paul Konerko is benched.
A timely long ball for Swisher, who'd gone hitless in 16 straight at-bats prior to Tuesday's affair. After posting big-time numbers in June (.315 AVG, 7 HR, 23 RBIs), the streaky slugger's cooled off considerably this month, as he's batting just .187 with four jacks and 13 RBIs through 75 July at-bats. Expect him to inflate those numbers in the coming weeks.
