Nick Swisher hit his 23rd homer Wednesday to help the White Sox beat the Indians 4-2. It was Swisher's 11th homer in just 127 at-bats since the All-Star break. Unfortunately, he still isn't hitting for average at all and he's been held out of the lineup on occasion since the Ken Griffey Jr. trade. However, the homers and walks have made him a quality regular lately. It helps that he's done his best work in big situations (he's at .253/.400/.527 in 91 at-bats with RISP).

A timely long ball for Swisher, who'd managed just one hit in his last 19 at-bats heading into Wednesday's affair. The switch-hitting 27-year-old continues to frustrate owners, as he's delivered solid power numbers but maintains a .226 average that's evidence of his inconsistency at the dish. Keep an eye on Swisher to see if he's able to pick up the pace a bit as the stretch run begins.
