Colin Fly, of The Associated Press, reports Chicago Cubs SP Rich Harden earned his first National League win Thursday, July 31. Harden gave up just one run and six hits while striking out nine in seven innings.
Rich Harden picked up his first win for the Cubs after allowing one run in seven innings and striking out nine against the Brewers. Harden was 0-1 with a 1.04 ERA in three starts since coming over from the A's. He's struck out 39 in his four NL starts.
Rich Harden must really like pitching in the National League, because he's been awfully good since coming to Chicago. He got his first NL win today, throwing seven innings, allowing one earned run and striking out nine.Harden has an ERA of 1.11 since joining the Cubs and has yet to give up more than one run in a game. His nine strikeouts were the fewest he has recorded in a game since he was traded.
