Braves sent infielder Ruben Gotay, catcher Corky Miller and RHP Vladimir Nunez outright to Triple-A Gwinnett. Yeah, Gwinnett. That's going to be a tough one to get used to after the Braves were in Richmond for 43 years. Gotay is the only one of these three with much chance of opening next year on a major league roster. With the exception of a two-week stint on the DL, he spent all year on Atlanta's roster. However, he made just nine starts and ended up hitting .262/.360/.369 in 65 at-bats as a pinch-hitter. He wouldn't be a bad use of a bench spot.
News: The Braves sent infielder Ruben Gotay, catcher Corky Miller and reliever Vladimir Nunez outright to Triple-A.
Analysis: This trio is nothing more than organizational depth at this point in their careers. Ignore them in all Fantasy leagues right now
News: The Braves activated infielder Ruben Gotay from the disabled list and reinstated first baseman Casey Kotchman from bereavement leave. Gotay went on the 15-day DL on Aug. 17 with a strained left hamstring. He was batting .225 with 20 hits in 89 at-bats in 73 games this season. Kotchman left on Aug. 20 to be with his ill mother, who remains in intensive care at a Florida hospital.
Analysis: As a reserve infielder, Gotay doesn't figure to have much Fantasy appeal. Then again, the Braves lineup is so thin these days, he might get a halfway decent number of at-bats. Still, leave him for NL-only leagues
Ruben Gotay was activated from the DL on Monday, according to the Miami Herald.Gotay had been out of action due to a strained left hamstring, and even though he is now back on the active roster he doesn't figure to have any value, especially with Martin Prado playing so well.
The Associated Press reports Atlanta Braves IF Ruben Gotay (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day disabled list.
