Houston Astros minor league P Runelvys Hernandez has been suspended 50 games, for testing positive under baseball's minor league drug program, according to USAToday.com.

Because the minor league season is over, Hernandez, who was sent down by the Astros in July, will begin serving the suspension next year. Perhaps the free agent will consider signing with a team in Japan or Korea in order to avoid the suspension. He wasn't going to have much of a chance of making an MLB team next spring anyway.

Astros sent RHP Runelvys Hernandez outright to Triple-A Round Rock. The move essentially makes Hernandez a minor league free agent. He was 0-3 with an 8.38 ERA in four starts for the Astros this season.
