Cardinals RP Ryan Franklin, acting as closer with Jason Isringhausen on the DL, worked around a 65-minute rain delay to notch his third save Friday at the Dodgers. He recorded one out before the rains came, then struggled with two walks upon his return. He didn't allow any runs, though, and ended up striking out the side.

Cardinals RP Ryan Franklin picked up his first save of the season during Tuesday's 6-5 win against the Rockies, but it didn't come easy. After striking out Brad Hawpe, Franklin gave up a two-run double to Chris Iannetta and a run-scoring double to Clint Barmes before getting Jeff Baker to fly out to center. Franklin was only charged with one run since he inherited two runners from Braden Looper.

Ryan Franklin currently leads the majors in holds with 11. Only four other pitchers have as many as nine so far.
