News: Ryan Ludwick homered for the third time in two games Saturday against the Phillies, his 26th overall, for the Cardinals. The drive landed in Big Mac Land, the third deck in left, and was estimated at 427 feet.
Analysis: With 26 homers and 77 RBI, Ludwick has been one of the biggest surprises this season. He continues to perform above and beyond reasonable expectations and doesn't get cold for long enough to suggest the end is near. Keep the 30-year-old breakout active in all leagues

One of the more surprising players in baseball this year, Ludwick followed his two-homer effort on Friday with a solo shot on Saturday. Ludwick, who hit 14 home runs last season, has maintained a similar fly ball percentage as last year (45.2 percent compared to last year's 46.8 percent), but his HR/FB percentage has shot up from 13 percent to 21.1 percent. Perhaps Ludwick has been the recipient of better luck this season.
